Shall we use Accu-Tell COVID-19 IgG/IgM Cassette to evaluate the effectiveness of the vaccination?

When we tested the blood specimens from the vaccinated individuals with Accu-Tell^® COVID-19 IgG/IgM Cassette, we got the positive results of IgG and/or IgM. What is the reason for such positive results? Shall we use Accu-Tell^® COVID-19 IgG/IgM Cassette to evaluate the effectiveness of the vaccination?

Answer:

The vaccination may initiate the immune response, which includes the production of antibodies, or binding antibodies, in the blood. Therefore, such blood specimens may show the IgG and/or IgM positive results when tested with Accu-Tell^® COVID-19 IgG/IgM Cassette.

Not all binding antibodies can block cellular infiltration and replication of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The subpopulation of the binding antibodies that can block cellular infiltration and replication of the virus are named neutralizing antibodies.

To evaluate the effectiveness of whether protective neutralizing antibodies are produced in the body after vaccination, Accu-Tell^® SARS-CoV-2 Neutralizing Antibody Test Cassette is recommended.
